We take many factors into consideration when booking a hotel. The location needs to be good, the design interesting, the service impeccable. But what amenity hasn’t yet been on our list? A library where you can sink into a plush armchair to read a chapter or two before heading out to dinner. With just two small camps and a private villa set on nearly 300,000 acres, South Africa’s Tswalu Kalahari Reserve is the standard for uncrowded safaris. Expect private game drives where you can walk with wild dogs, spot cheetah cubs playing in trees, hang out with a mob of meercats, and have the chance to see rare species like rhinos and pangolins.
