From Nor-Cal to So-Cal to the snow-covered mountains, dry deserts, and balmy coastlines, California boasts many different climates, microclimates, and ecoregions. The golden state is a melting pot of culture, cuisine, and traditions, that you can almost taste as you roll down the car window and let the breeze ruffle your hair down Highway 1. First, you pass through Carmel-By-The-Sea, admiring the quaint fairytale cottages and Pebble Beach’s pristine golf course, pulling off the road at Point Lobos to gaze out into the vast crystal-blue Pacific water, crossing over Bixby Bridge as you breathe in the salty, not too hot, not too cold air. Maybe you’re heading south to Big Sur or Sequoia National Forest to stand in awe beneath the redwoods. Perhaps you’re heading over to Death Valley National Park to hike through the extraordinary colored canyons and mountains of Artist’s Palette. Wherever you’re headed, amongst all of the magical spots across the variety-filled, something-for-everyone state, you’re most definitely headed in the right direction.
