A Global Feast Awaits

A Global Feast Awaits

The culinary offerings at The Venetian Resort will take even the most demanding diners on an elevated tour of the world’s best cuisines.

Italy isn’t the only country you’ll experience when you visit The Venetian Resort Las Vegas. Indeed, a trip here is a veritable world tour of tastes and experiences. But let’s start in Italy, the country so deep in the heart and soul of the resort.

Sala 118

Make your way to The Venetian lobby and settle into a velvet sofa at Sala 118. The all-day lounge, as welcoming as an Italian living room (a “sala”), takes inspiration from Venice (and its 118 islands), where cocktail culture revolves around the aperitivo. Sala Spritz, to take one variety, is made with prosecco, Select (the favorite local Venetian bitter), Moletto tomato gin, and cantaloupe. Negronis also shine: Paradise is made with Porter’s Tropical Old Tom Gin, heirloom pineapple amaro, Luxardo Bitter Bianco, coconut, Lustau manzanilla sherry, and lime bitters.

HaSalon

Keep the convivial, Mediterranean spirit going at HaSalon, which also translates as “living room.” Chef Eyal Shani—a longtime judge on MasterChef Israel—wanted to recreate the vibrant Tel Aviv spirit of meals in his home through a globally inflected menu at once highly shareable and high-spirited. “Vegetable creatures” include “6 Spicy Instruments That Will Swirl Your Soul.” Among the pastas, “7 Ricotta Clouds, Not Even One More” may leave the table fighting over the sage-butter-drenched gnudi, as will “A Bag of Golden Calamari–Fried to Perfection.” The playful attitude and lively atmosphere make dinner at HaSalon feel like a day on a Mediterranean beach.

Moving east to China, Mott 32, located on The Palazzo casino floor, serves the best Chinese cuisine on the Strip. The variety (Cantonese, Szechuan, Beijing…) is dazzling, as is the striking, dimly lit dining room. The menu by James Beard Award semifinalist executive chef Alan Ji honors and elevates seasonal ingredients, best expressed in signature dishes like smoked black cod, applewood-roasted Peking duck, and stir-fried Shanghainese noodles. Dinner is served nightly, but don’t sleep through Brunch 32 every weekend, or you’ll miss the dim sum spectacular—traditional Iberico pork soup dumplings, crispy soft shell crab cheung fun, Alaskan crab meat fried rice, and sugar-coated BBQ pork buns.

Wakuda

The vibe is chic and the sushi is sublime at WAKUDA. The scene comes to life later into the night, with a choice selection of Japanese whiskeys on the menu at Golden Gai Cocktail Club and outstanding sushi, sashimi, nigiri, and yakimono crafted by Michelin-starred chef Tetsuya Wakuda, whose standout dishes include toro taku roll, wagyu flambe, lobster roll, and soft serve miso ice cream.

Gjelina

Sailing across the Pacific, back to where you began your tour, brings you to an outpost of beloved Venice Beach (California, not Italy) restaurant Gjelina on Restaurant Row. The produce-forward menu—farm-to-table at its finest—includes sunchokes served with green goddess dressing, Bel Fiore radicchio with creamy buttermilk-anchovy dressing, and roasted oyster mushrooms with tarragon butter. Follow up with heartier plates—dry-age ribeye, crispy duck confit—or one of Gjelina’s famous pizzas with guanciale, Castelvetrano olives, housemade chorizo, fennel, or fromage blanc.

End the night in ultimate Vegas style at Juliet Cocktail Room over drinks, dancing, and live entertainment. Choose a suggestive cocktail to match your mood—or your desire for the rest of the evening—Green with Envy, Spicy Flamingo, The Queen’s Garden, or Diamonds Are Forever, a shareable cocktail made for two.

When you’re at The Venetian Resort, the world is your oyster.

Would you go on a quietcation? One of this year’s biggest travel trends has us seeking out silence—like the kind you’ll find if you’re in Bali on March 19th for Nyepi. For 24 hours, the island goes quiet in celebration of the Hindu New Year, giving residents and guests space to cleanse negative energy, reflect, and welcome in new beginnings.

Sometimes, over-the-top trips look like five-star hotels and private jets. Other times, it looks more like this: taking in the stars while on a guided horseback trek across Mongolia’s wild steppes, deserts, and mountains with pelorusx. What’s more your speed?
