The Broadmoor, Colorado Springs - Full-Time Travel

The Broadmoor

Colorado Springs, USA
In a Nutshell:

Situated in quaint Colorado Springs, with incredible mountain views that never get old, The Broadmoor is a sprawling resort estate with multiple complexes, buildings, golf courses, tennis courts, pools, a fitness center, retail shops, spas, restaurants, lakes, and more. It’s not out of the ordinary to see people zipping around the property (or “campus” to use The Broadmoor's word) on golf carts.

You may have a hard time leaving the resort’s premises because of the amount of activities on offer. Somewhere in between dining at one of its eighteen restaurants, sipping mid-afternoon cocktails at one of the pool cafes, indulging in a dry sauna session followed by a Swedish massage, and completing an eighteen-hole round of golf, you’ll question why you chose to rent a car.

EDITOR'S TIP: Get Sunday brunch at the Lake Terrace Dining Room and save room for dessert! We recommend the bananas foster.

The Style: Grand historic American with a Mediterranean flare

  • The full-service spa boasts over 100 services, an indoor pool, 43 treatment rooms, a relaxation room, and a hair and nail salon.
  • For adventure lovers, look into zip lining, fly fishing, or explore Seven Falls, and see for yourself why it is the only waterfall in Colorado to have earned a spot on National Geographic’s list of International Waterfalls.
  • The history is mesmerizing. Are you at a museum? A hotel? A college campus? The line may be blurred at times but definitely take the time to slow down and explore every inch of the place.

Love to drive? A road trip through central Norway should definitely be on your bucket list. 🇳🇴 One of the best ways to pull it off is through 62nord: The company’s Drive the Fjords signature adventure will put you behind the wheel of an electric Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo on the legendary Atlantic Ocean Road (pictured here) and the winding Trollstigen as you head from Ålesund to the Øye Valley.

As if we needed an excuse to book a getaway to France’s wine country. This summer, three new openings in the region are calling us back for more vin. Here’s the scoop. 👇🏼

🍷 chateaulacommaraine, a reimagined 12th-century castle set in the heart of an ancient vineyard, is ushering in a new level of hospitality as Burgundy’s first true five-star resort.

🍷 chateaudeciteauxbourgogne from the fontenillecollection will offer a fresh way to explore the storied vineyards on Burgundy’s famed Côte d’Or when it opens this summer.

🍷 relaisdamboise will bring a needed dose of luxury to the charming village of Amboise in the Loire Valley when it opens in June.

Love whales? Us too. 🐋 It’s whale watching season in most of the Northern Hemisphere—here’s where to go for your best chance of spotting the gentle giants.👇🏽

Los Cabos, Mexico: It’s possible to spot whales year-round in the Sea of Cortés, but go December-April to spot grey whales, blue whales, humpback, and sperm whales.

Vancouver Island, Canada: Go May-October to spot orcas and grey whales

French Polynesia: Go July-November to spot humpback whales and their calves.

Azores, Portugal: Go April-June for the best chance to see sperm whales, humpbacks, sei whales, and more.

Dominican Republic: Sperm and humpback whales are visible throughout the year, but go January-March for your best chance of spotting them.

Iceland: Head to northern Iceland in May-September to see humpback, blue, minke, and sperm whales.

Would you go on a quietcation? One of this year’s biggest travel trends has us seeking out silence—like the kind you’ll find if you’re in Bali on March 19th for Nyepi. For 24 hours, the island goes quiet in celebration of the Hindu New Year, giving residents and guests space to cleanse negative energy, reflect, and welcome in new beginnings.
